Trends and developments in the future

Theme park boom in Asia

From the viewpoint of investments, the trends are focussing on Aisa.

In the Asian continent, many more investments will be made. Researches have shown that Asia is still under- served when it comes to theme parks. Additionally the middle class is growing, so that more people are willing to spend their money on attractions.

It's all about the story behind it

Most theme parks do already use this technique, but it will be further improved in the future. Building an attraction including a story that it tells, is essential to a successful theme park. In that way, the waiting line can already become an attraction for the visitors.

Mega attractions

In the future, there will be more and more mega attractions found in theme parks.

The visitors want more entertainment and have bigger expectations towards the attractions they visit.

Visitors may get  'bored' by the ones that exist right now, but ask for better, memorizable experiences.

Grandparents get active

In the future there will be more elderly people with a good health condition living. Therefore, the infrastructure of theme parks will be improved, for example by providing facilities for disabled people.

Next to that the amusement industry will offer more attractions, which elderly people can visit together with their grandchildren. They should include edutainment, so that the elderly can share their knowledge with the children and everyone is entertained at the same time.

The personal approach and interaction

People may feel annoyed by the mass communication in the future. They feel a need for a more personal communication.

Basic personal data such as name and age can be used.

An example can be a personal entrance card such as  a key to a magical ghost castle.

Interaction with the attractions will be another huge development in the future. The interaction can be Virtual and augmented reality.

It can also be provided by actors that interact directly with the guests.
