My name is Birte, I am 18 years old and I am currently studying international Leisure Management in Leeuwarden in the Netherlands.

The reasons for choosing theme parks as my leisure specialist topic:

I decided to have an inside into the theme park sector, because I am amazed by the worlds they create for the visitors. They do not built a simple roller coaster and call it a theme park, but they develop a whole story around it and make dreams come true. Even though visiting theme parks are quite expensive, it is a pleasure for me to be there. I feel teleported to another world.

Since I started the studies and went on the field trip, I am even more impressed by the theme parks and all the things that come along with them. One example is the waiting line before the actual attraction, since good attractions already entertain the customer right there. And make them forget about the time he has to wait.

During the research I got even more interested in the topic, since I found out so much and unexpected background information. That made it quite difficult from time to time as well, because I lost myself in details that weren't necessary for the website.

It was quite difficult for me to choose a country on which  could specialize, because the attractions I am fascinated in are spread all over the world. Therefore, I decided to put a small focus on Germany and Europe, but also share the information about other attractions worldwide.
